'Made in Gumi' Showcases Technological Prowess on the Global Stage

Gumi City Operates Corporate Promotion Center During Asian Athletics Championships
23 Local Companies Participate in the Event

During the 2025 Gumi Asian Athletics Championships, Gumi City in Gyeongbuk operated a 'Corporate Promotion Center' in the Park Chunghee Gymnasium area, showcasing the technologies and products of leading local companies and reinforcing Gumi's status as an industrial city throughout Asia.

A total of 23 local companies, including Samsung Electronics, Toray Advanced Materials, SK Siltron, Hanwha Systems, LIG Nex1, Kolon Industries, Wonik QnC, SM Bexel, One BioGen, Jeil Information & Communication, Youngdo Velvet, and Wintex, participated in this corporate promotion center, presenting a wide array of advanced, technology-based global products manufactured in Gumi.


In particular, Samsung Electronics' Galaxy series (smartphones, tablets, Buds, and watches), SK Siltron's semiconductor silicon wafers, defense weapons from Hanwha Systems and LIG Nex1, and advanced new materials from Toray Advanced Materials and Kolon Industries?all recognized for their competitiveness in the global market?drew significant attention from both domestic and international visitors.


This exhibition went beyond simple product displays by including interactive content such as guide robot demonstrations, photo zones, and a hologram photo box, encouraging participation from family visitors and enhancing their overall experience.


The promotion center, which operated continuously throughout the championships, served as an effective platform to promote the excellence of Gumi-based companies to more than 2,000 athletes from 43 Asian countries as well as domestic and international visitors.


Kim Youngcheol, Director of Economic Affairs for Gumi City, stated, "This promotion center was an excellent opportunity to showcase the outstanding technological capabilities and industrial competitiveness of our local companies," and added, "We will continue to actively support and promote Gumi companies so that they can achieve sustained growth in domestic and international markets."


Meanwhile, Gumi City is accelerating efforts to strengthen its status as an industrial city by operating the 'Corporate Promotion Center' at various large-scale events, thereby supporting local companies in their promotional activities, market expansion, and investment attraction.
