Shinsegae Group Appoints Kim Suwan as New Head of Management Support 'Control Tower'

Shinsegae Group has appointed Kim Suwan, who previously served as the head of Emart's U.S. subsidiary, as the Head of Management Support in the group's Management Strategy Office. The Head of Management Support is one of the top-level positions overseeing the entire Shinsegae Group.

According to the retail industry on May 30, Shinsegae Group appointed Kim Suwan as the Head of Management Support in the Management Strategy Office. Born in 1967, Kim graduated from Chonbuk National University with a degree in Resource Engineering and joined Shinsegae Group in 1994. After working in the HR team of the Management Support Office, Kim served as the head of Emart's U.S. subsidiary since 2016.


The Management Strategy Office is divided into the Head of Management and the Head of Management Support. The Head of Management is responsible for finance, administration, and management diagnosis, while the Head of Management Support oversees human resources and audit functions. Until now, Vice President Kim Minkyu had concurrently held the roles of leading the Strategic Support Headquarters, which is responsible for the group's public relations, and the Head of Management Support.


Shinsegae Group plans to appoint a successor to the head of Emart's U.S. subsidiary in a subsequent personnel announcement.
