Dongtan City Hospital announced that it is accelerating the expansion of its community-based medical network, building on its educational partnership with Kyung Hee University Hospital at Gangdong.
This collaboration goes beyond a simple connection between institutions and is drawing attention as it leads to the establishment of an integrated care system covering the entire eastern region of Hwaseong.
The two hospitals are refining their patient referral and transfer systems, and are carrying out a range of practical collaborations, including operating a dedicated hotline, sharing medical histories, and expanding multidisciplinary consultations.
Based on this system, Dongtan City Hospital is also strengthening its organic connections with clinics and hospitals in the Dongtan area, taking the lead in addressing gaps in healthcare access and ensuring continuity of care.
A hospital representative stated, "Now, with Dongtan at the center, university hospitals, primary care institutions, and regional base hospitals are operating as a single, integrated network. In particular, the ability to quickly refer and transfer critical patients has increased both the treatment opportunities and satisfaction of local patients."
Meanwhile, Dongtan City Hospital is reinforcing its hospital operation model that combines education and patient care by expanding programs such as medical staff exchange, professional training, and the appointment of clinical professors. Under the name 'Kyung Hee University Hospital at Gangdong Educational Partnership Dongtan City Hospital,' the hospital is realizing the establishment of university hospital-level medical services in the local community.
