The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced on May 30 that it is recruiting participating companies for the "Home Appliance Industry Step-Up Support" business consulting program. This initiative aims to support the phased growth of local home appliance companies and to foster business growth and job creation in the region by integrating and linking various fragmented business support policies.

This program is part of the "2025 Regional and Industry Customized Job Creation Support Project," supported by Gwangju City and the Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Office. Its purpose is to help overcome the crisis facing the home appliance industry in Gwangju due to the prolonged economic downturn, and to support the growth of home appliance companies by strengthening their competitiveness and resolving their challenges.

Eligible participants include home appliance-related companies and businesses undergoing industry conversion located in Gwangju that wish to discover high value-added businesses through industrial structure advancement. Other sectors such as convergence technology and manufacturing technology are also included.

The consulting areas cover home appliances, artificial intelligence (AI), optical technology, energy, management, and marketing. Expert consultants from each field will participate as dedicated consultants to support the companies.

In the consulting program, experts from each field will visit participating companies to conduct an initial assessment, including company status diagnosis and industry and market analysis, to establish a business roadmap. Subsequently, through intensive consulting, they will provide tailored on-site support, including presenting step-by-step implementation strategies such as strengthening technological capabilities and linking with support programs, as well as addressing company-specific challenges.

A representative from the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry stated, "This program goes beyond simple consulting and is significant in establishing a foundation for the survival and sustainable growth of local home appliance companies." The representative also expressed expectations that "it will provide practical assistance for local home appliance companies facing sales declines and growth limitations due to the economic downturn to overcome structural challenges and enhance their brand recognition."
