On the 30th, Chungnam Province signed a "Business Agreement for Tourism Revitalization and Brand Enhancement" with GS Retail at the provincial government office.

About 10 officials, including Kim Beomsoo, Director of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Chungnam Province, and Lee Seungjun, Head of GS Retail Division, attended the event, where they agreed to establish a joint cooperation system to revitalize local tourism and strengthen corporate branding.

Under this agreement, the province and GS Retail will launch a variety of collaborative projects linked to the Chungnam Year of Visit, starting next month and continuing through the end of 2026, which marks the duration of the Chungnam Year of Visit.

First, promotional posters for Chungnam tourism will be displayed on the entrances of approximately 900 GS25 convenience stores in the province, expanding everyday touchpoints for tourism promotion. In addition, promotional efforts will be strengthened by broadcasting Chungnam Year of Visit videos and monthly Chungnam posters through in-store video display devices (GSTV, POS) at GS25 branches.

Voice messages related to the Chungnam Year of Visit will also be played through the in-store background music (BGM) system.

The province has also included collaboration on product development using local specialty products as a key task in this agreement, aiming to boost the local economy by promoting mutual growth with local farmers and small business owners.

Furthermore, starting in the second half of this year, the province will accelerate the development and sales of character merchandise utilizing the intellectual property (IP) of "Wodigadi," the province's representative tourism character, in order to enhance Chungnam's unique content competitiveness.

Kim Beomsoo, Director of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Chungnam Province, said, "Through this agreement, we expect to present a mutually beneficial tourism revitalization model involving both corporations and local governments," adding, "We will continue to widely promote the appeal of Chungnam tourism through various private sector cooperation projects in the future."
