"Fostering Ecological Sensitivity and Practical Skills in Youth"
The Namak Youth Culture House After-School Academy in Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on May 30 that it will run the "Visiting Environmental Classroom" program together with Mokpo National University every month until November.
This program was organized to provide experience-based environmental education to youth through collaboration with a local university, with the goals of raising awareness about environmental protection and fostering ecological sensitivity.
The program will be led by professors from the Department of Environmental Education at Mokpo National University and the student club "Cheongjigi." Each month, it will cover a variety of topics such as carbon neutrality, plastic pollution, upcycling, and zero waste. In addition to theoretical education, the program will also include hands-on activities focused on practical implementation, so that youth can more easily understand and act on environmental issues.
Oh Sunhee, Director of Resident Life, said, "We want to help youth not only learn environmental knowledge, but also put it into practice in their daily lives," adding, "We hope this environmental classroom will serve as an opportunity to nurture sensitivity toward sustainable living."
