The signing ceremony was held at the Pohang Advanced Marine R&D Center, with more than 20 key stakeholders in attendance, including officials from both organizations and the Pohang City Tourism and Convention City Promotion Headquarters.

This agreement is part of a strategy to ensure the successful opening and stable operation of the Pohang International Exhibition and Convention Center, scheduled for 2027, and to secure international-level exhibition and convention capabilities by incorporating KINTEX’s global operational experience.

Under the agreement, POEX and KINTEX plan to establish a practical and sustainable cooperation system in various areas, including exhibition hall operation and expansion strategies, joint planning and hosting of industrial exhibitions, and strengthening the capabilities of operational personnel.

KINTEX will share with POEX its know-how in large-scale exhibition operations and content planning accumulated over more than 20 years, while POEX will focus on developing differentiated content by utilizing the region’s industrial and cultural infrastructure.

In particular, POEX plans to accelerate efforts to attract international industrial exhibitions by leveraging the region’s eco-friendly future industries?such as hydrogen reduction steelmaking, secondary batteries, bio, and hydrogen industries?and by connecting with KINTEX’s global exhibition network in countries such as India and Malaysia.

Song Namun, CEO of POEX, stated, "This agreement will be a significant starting point for Pohang to establish its operational system from the pre-opening phase of the Pohang International Exhibition and Convention Center and to leap forward as a MICE hub city with global competitiveness," adding, "We will thoroughly prepare for every stage, from opening preparations to actual operations."
