Scenic Eclipse II, an Ultra-Luxury Cruise Ship with State-of-the-Art Facilities and Premium Services, Docks in Pohang for the First Time in Nine Years
Pohang City Launches Full-Scale Efforts to Attract Cruises, Including Port Sales to Overseas Cruise Lines and Familiarization Tours for Travel Agencies
On May 30, the ultra-luxury 6-star cruise ship "Scenic Eclipse II," weighing 22,000 tons, docked at Yeongilman Port in Pohang.

This marks the first time in nine years that an ultra-luxury cruise ship equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and premium services, such as the Scenic Eclipse II, has docked in Pohang.
The cruise is currently on a 17-night, 18-day journey, carrying 190 passengers and 178 crew members. It departed from Tokyo Port in Japan on May 20, is visiting major Japanese cities as well as Sokcho, Pohang, and Busan in Korea, and will return to Japan.
This 22,000-ton cruise ship is equipped with cutting-edge facilities and polar exploration capabilities, featuring 114 suite rooms, two helicopters, and a six-person submersible.
To welcome the cruise's arrival and introduce Pohang's attractions to the passengers, the city organized a variety of welcoming events, including traditional musical performances, lion dance, and traditional fan dance.
Passengers of various nationalities, including Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom, toured major tourist attractions in Pohang such as Space Walk, Jukdo Market, and Yeongildae, before returning to the cruise ship in the afternoon.
Additionally, a shuttle bus was operated between Yeongilman Port and Jukdo Market to provide convenience for individual tourists and crew members, allowing them to explore various parts of Pohang.

Nicholas, an Australian passenger on the cruise, said, "I appreciate Pohang City's hospitality and the welcoming performances upon arrival. I am disappointed that I could not see all of Pohang due to the short sightseeing time, but I would like to visit again if I have the opportunity."
Mayor Lee Kangdeok stated, "Pohang is a city with excellent port infrastructure and offers a variety of attractions and culinary experiences blending history and modernity. I hope that, starting with this arrival, cruise visits to Pohang will continue every year."
Pohang City is currently conducting port sales targeting overseas cruise lines to expand cruise calls like the Scenic Eclipse II, and is also planning familiarization tours for domestic and international cruise lines and travel agencies.
On June 5, the special cruise ship "Panstar Miracle" is scheduled to depart from Yeongilman Port, travel to Maizuru and Sakaiminato in Japan, and return to Yeongilman Port on June 8.
