This tourism product was created to mark the reopening of the suburban line and combines train travel with local attraction experiences, making it stand out. It targets a wide range of customers as a new tourism content that allows visitors to enjoy both the romance of train journeys and Yangju City's unique local resources.
Major programs include 'Jang Ukjin and Min Bokjin Art Museum Tour,' the 'Sulbit Byeolbit Journey' which offers traditional liquor experiences, live performances and wine tasting on the train, the nighttime emotional journey 'Romantic Starry Night Train,' and the 'Sullye Seolleim Train in Yangju.'
In particular, the 'Sullye Seolleim Train' is a program that provides both traditional brewing experiences and tastings, and is operated at the Yangjugol Igajeon Tongju Brewery, which won the grand prize at the 2024 Korea Liquor Awards.
Experiences for family travelers are also available.
Programs include a visit to the Lighting Museum and traditional hand mirror making, which can be enjoyed together with children.
This product will be operated on a regular monthly basis, and to commemorate the first run, it will be offered at a special price for a limited time. Schedules and reservations can be checked through the Korail Tourism Development travel mall or customer center.
Hong Miyeong, head of the Culture and Tourism Division of Yangju City, said, "This tourism product utilizing the suburban line is an opportunity to enjoy both transportation convenience and local experiences," adding, "We will continue to develop tourism content that reflects diverse customer needs in the future."
