"Creating a City Where Citizens Are Happy Through Creative Design"

On May 30, the Daejeon City Government announced the appointment of Dr. Changgi Lee as the third director of the Daejeon Design Promotion Agency.
Changgi Lee, the new director, has previously served as a professor at Daejeon University, president of the Daejeon Institute for Regional Development, and president of the Daejeon Human Resources Development Institute.
Most recently, he served as the chairman of the Urban Safety Design Center at the Daejeon Citizens' Coalition for Economic Justice, where he emphasized urban design policies such as the introduction of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) and the expansion of universal design.
Director Lee stated, "I will strive to create a city where citizens are happy through creative design that reflects the regional characteristics and identity of Daejeon."
Jangwoo Lee, Mayor of Daejeon, said, "Director Lee has demonstrated organizational management skills and strategic leadership by serving as director and chairman at various institutions. As an expert with both practical and theoretical knowledge, he is expected to contribute to strengthening the capabilities of the Daejeon Design Promotion Agency and to the qualitative advancement of the local design industry."
The term of office is two years, starting from May 30, 2025.
