On May 30, Kumho Construction announced that it had been selected as the preferred negotiation partner for the 'Hanam Gyosan A3 Block Private Participation Public Housing Project' commissioned by Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Development Corporation (GH).
The total project cost is approximately 257 billion KRW, and Kumho Construction will participate as the lead company with a 51% stake. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2028.
This project is the first private participation public housing project among the third-generation new towns. It will be located at 12 Cheonhyeon-dong, Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do, and will consist of 1,100 rental housing units in buildings ranging from two basement levels to 29 above-ground floors. The units will include 531 units of 59 square meters, 537 units of 31 square meters, and 32 units of 33 square meters. Of these, 100 units of the 31·33 square meter type will be supplied as welfare housing for seniors aged 65 and older.
Hanam Gyosan A3 Block will include senior welfare housing in response to the super-aged society, where the population aged 65 and older exceeds 20%. The senior welfare housing will feature social welfare facilities such as physical therapy rooms and healthcare facilities, as well as barrier-free designs including adjustable-height washbasins. In addition, a private professional management company with proven experience in community operations will be selected at the time of move-in to actively support communication and community engagement among residents.
Meanwhile, Kumho Construction has recently recorded profits for two consecutive quarters, continuing its performance rebound. In particular, stable orders centered on public works have led to improvements in sales and profits, and the company is maintaining solid growth despite uncertainties in the construction industry.
A Kumho Construction representative stated, "The Hanam Gyosan A3 Block project is another example that proves Kumho Construction's capabilities in public works," adding, "Based on our accumulated design and construction experience, we will provide a new residential space that realizes senior welfare and community values."
