Establishment of the Novatus Graduate School Master of Engineering Program: Practical AI Education
213 AI Professionals Trained Through Seven Cohorts of the Novatus Academia Program
UNIST is accelerating its efforts to foster practical AI talent that will lead the digital transformation of local industries.
UNIST (President Park Jongrae) has established the Novatus Graduate School (Professional Graduate School of Engineering) and is now recruiting the first cohort of students for its master's program in Industrial Artificial Intelligence. At the same time, it is also recruiting the 8th class for the five-month hands-on training program, the AI Novatus Academia Ulsan Program.
Through these initiatives, the university aims to nurture practical, industry-focused AI professionals who can respond to changes in industrial structures and technological innovation.
The Novatus Graduate School is a Master of Engineering program that applies AI technology to real-world industrial projects.
The curriculum covers everything from basic engineering to prototyping and product innovation, and students can earn their degree by completing a thesis or a practical project. Applications for the 2025 Fall master's program are open until June 18 and must be submitted online via Uwayapply.
The AI Novatus Academia Ulsan Program targets professionals in the local manufacturing sector, providing training in basic AI concepts and practical solutions to on-site problems.
Participants work in teams to experience the entire AI integration process, including data preprocessing, algorithm application, and model validation. This Project-Based Learning (PBL) program has produced 213 AI professionals from 92 companies across its first seven cohorts.
The 8th class will run from June 27 to November 28, and applications can be submitted via QR code until June 13.
President Park Jongrae stated, "The Novatus Graduate School and AI Novatus Academia will provide practical training to transform industries through digitalization," adding, "UNIST will strengthen the competitiveness of local industries by offering field-oriented AI education."
