The '2025 First Half Overseas Buyer Invitation Export Consultation Meeting', hosted by seven organizations including Jeonnam Province and the Jeonnam Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, was held at the Yeosu Expo Convention Center on May 28. The event resulted in export MOUs worth 9 million dollars and on-site contracts totaling 1.52 million dollars.

The export consultation meeting aimed to expand domestic and international sales channels for Jeonnam's agricultural and marine products and to diversify export destinations. The event brought together 30 buyers from 12 countries?including major export markets such as the United States, Japan, and China, as well as new markets like Kazakhstan and New Zealand?along with 38 merchandise directors from domestic distribution companies such as GS Home Shopping and NS Home Shopping, and representatives from 100 export companies. Active consultations and exchanges took place throughout the event.

A wide variety of processed agricultural and marine foods were showcased, including gim (dried seaweed), processed rice and grain products, rice cakes, dried vegetables, and processed seaweed products. These offerings attracted significant interest from buyers due to their excellent quality and competitive pricing.

Through product evaluations and one-on-one customized export consultations, companies signed export MOUs worth 9 million dollars on-site. Overseas buyers were able to directly assess the outstanding agricultural and marine products of Jeonnam, resulting in on-site export contracts worth 1.52 million dollars for various items such as mushrooms, gim, and abalone. This laid the groundwork for entering new markets, including Kazakhstan and Malaysia.

Cho Hyeonggeun, Director of International Cooperation for Jeonnam Province, stated, "The excellence of Jeonnam's agricultural and marine foods has once again been proven in the global market through this export consultation meeting. We will continue to actively support Jeonnam's export companies in entering overseas markets through international food fairs, market development teams, and export consultation meetings."

Jeonnam's agricultural and marine food exports reached a record high of 780 million dollars last year.
