"Jellies Linked to Health Issues Such as Dizziness"

In the Netherlands, all products of the global jelly brand Haribo subject to a recall after some items were found to contain cannabis ingredients.

According to the report, the NVWA warned on its website that products containing jellies which could cause health issues such as dizziness when consumed were being distributed, advising consumers “not to eat them.” So far, three bags of the affected product have been identified. However, the NVWA explained that they decided to recall all products as a precautionary measure.

An NVWA spokesperson told AFP that “the police notified the NVWA after receiving reports that several people, including children and adults, became ill after eating the jellies,” adding that an investigation into the circumstances is underway.

Patrick Tacks, Vice President of Marketing at Haribo, explained in a statement sent to AFP that the recall is related to “limited cases involving a single product in the eastern Netherlands.” He added, “We are cooperating closely with Dutch authorities to support the investigation and to determine the facts regarding the product contamination.”
