Kim Jongin, former emergency committee chairman of the People Power Party, who was called the "kingmaker" during the last presidential election, analyzed that Lee Jaemyung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, would win the 21st presidential election with an approval rating of about 51%.

On May 29, Kim Jongin appeared on CBS Radio's "Kim Hyunjung's News Show" and said, "In 2012, President Park Geunhye received an approval rating of 51.6%. I think the approval rating in this presidential election will reach a similar level," adding, "In the case of candidate Kim Moonsu, I don't think it will be easy for him to surpass 40%."

He also shared his opinion regarding his prediction for Lee Junseok, the Reform New Party candidate's approval rating, and his comments on the behavior of Lee Jaemyung's eldest son during the debate the previous day.

Kim Jongin said, "There is a perception that Lee Junseok made some strange remarks and that it caused a commotion, but I think he made that mistake while speaking during the citation process," adding, "From my perspective, although it may have caused a stir for about a day, I don't think it will have a significant impact on the presidential election itself. I expect his approval rating to be around 15%."

Meanwhile, Kim Jongin, former emergency committee chairman of the People Power Party, is effectively serving as a mentor to candidate Lee Junseok. On May 27, Kim made a surprise appearance at Lee Junseok's campaign event at COEX in Seoul and said, "If candidate Lee Junseok receives at least a double-digit percentage, it will be a success," adding, "There is no one in Daegu and Gyeongbuk who can represent the conservatives. For the sake of the future, I am investing in Lee Junseok."
