2.01 Percentage Points Higher Than the Previous Election
On the first day of early voting for the 21st presidential election, May 29, the final turnout was recorded at 19.58%, the highest ever for the first day of early voting since it was first introduced in nationwide elections in 2014.
The National Election Commission announced that, between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on this day, 8,691,711 out of a total of 44,391,871 eligible voters cast their ballots.

This turnout is 2.01 percentage points higher than the first-day early voting turnout for the 20th presidential election in 2022, which stood at 17.57%. On the first day of early voting for the 20th presidential election, 7,767,735 people exercised their right to vote.
If the current trend continues, the final early voting turnout, which runs through May 30, is expected to surpass the previous record for highest early voting turnout, set during the 20th presidential election (36.93%).
