The Chungnam Office of Education announced on May 29 that it held a professional development session for "lesson-sharing experts" at Naepo Gonggam Maru in Hongbuk-eup that afternoon.
The Office of Education has been appointing and operating "lesson-sharing experts" among middle and high school teachers who possess expertise in lesson delivery and curriculum. This initiative aims to realize student-centered classes and lead improvements in classroom instruction.
Lesson-sharing experts play a variety of roles to improve classroom instruction and spread a culture of lesson-sharing. Their responsibilities include supporting information-sharing sessions for middle and high school teachers, facilitating open classes and post-lesson sharing sessions, supporting open classes led by demonstration teachers, and assisting with the integration of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
During this professional development session, the lesson-sharing experts discussed the latest educational trends and practical ways to support instruction, while also sharing their experiences of lesson-sharing with colleagues.
Kim Hongje, Director of Secondary Education at the Chungnam Office of Education, said, "We expect that the continued professional development of lesson-sharing experts will enable us to provide more specialized and practical instructional support to teachers in the field." He added, "We will continue to actively support middle and high school teachers so that they can gain confidence in their teaching and grow together with their students."
