Busan Veterans Affairs Office Provides "Germ ZERO! Cooling UP!" Service to Korean War Veterans

"Veterans Affairs in Everyday Life" in Partnership with Clean School

The Busan Regional Veterans Affairs Office has launched a "Veterans Affairs in Everyday Life" initiative for elderly national merit recipients ahead of the summer heat.

On May 29, the Busan Regional Veterans Affairs Office (Director Namil Lee) conducted the 3rd "Germ ZERO! Cooling UP!" campaign in partnership with Clean School, visiting 10 households of Korean War veterans and veterans' families to provide air conditioning hygiene inspection and maintenance services.

Now in its third year, this program was designed to protect the health of elderly national merit recipients and reduce their daily inconveniences by inspecting air conditioning units in advance, thereby preventing summer respiratory illnesses.

This initiative has been supported for three consecutive years through the volunteer efforts of Clean School (CEO Choi Bopil). CEO Choi stated, "It is especially meaningful to remember the sacrifice and dedication of national merit recipients and to practice sustainable veterans affairs in everyday life."

Mr. Lee, a 95-year-old veteran who received the service, expressed his deep gratitude, saying, "I am truly thankful to have received a hygiene inspection at a time when respiratory health is so important."

Lee Nam-il, Director of the Busan Regional Veterans Affairs Office, said, "We will further expand the foundation for public-private cooperation and actively pursue policies that remember the dedication to the nation and realize 'living veterans affairs' in daily life."

This campaign was carried out as part of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs' mid- to long-term veterans donation project, "Veterans Affairs Dream for All." This project is a platform that allows anyone in the country to participate in veterans donations and express gratitude to merit recipients and their families, with participation available through a dedicated website.
