On May 29, Chungnam Governor Kim Taeheum visited the Tonsley Innovation District in South Australia to discuss the creation of a hydrogen ecosystem and ways to cooperate on renewable energy.

Governor Kim held a roundtable with officials from the South Australian government and industry representatives, sharing cases of renewable energy transition. He then visited the South Australia Hydrogen Park to observe the production of green hydrogen and the site where it is blended with city gas for supply.

Governor Kim emphasized cooperation with South Australia, stating, "We are pursuing a transition to hydrogen and ammonia co-firing power generation to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045."

Meanwhile, Chungnam Province plans to increase its annual hydrogen production capacity to 850,000 tons by 2030 and establish 10 zero-carbon power plants. The province also aims to expand the share of renewable energy in industrial electricity to 90% by 2035.
