At a press conference held at the National Assembly that day, Floor Leader Kwon stated, "I respect candidate Lee Junseok's decision to stay in the race," adding, "However, unification will take place based on the choices of the voters."

The party intends to accept as many of Lee Junseok's policy pledges as possible. Kwon said, "The values and policy direction of candidate Lee Junseok are almost identical to those of candidate Kim Moonsoo," and added, "We can fully accept proposals such as implementing state responsibility for mathematics education and attaching pink license plates to multi-family vehicles."

Kwon also appealed to Lee Junseok's supporters for their backing. He said, "Electing Kim Moonsoo as president is the way to secure the future of candidate Lee Junseok," and added, "I hope you will make a wise decision."

Regarding the controversy over Lee Junseok's comments about women's bodies, Kwon stated, "It is not appropriate to display an evasive attitude just because winning the election is important," and added, "I believe candidate Lee Junseok's raising of this issue will work against candidate Lee Jaemyung."
