Maintaining the Highest Early Voter Turnout Rate Ever for This Time Slot
As of 12:00 p.m. on May 29, the first day of early voting for the 21st presidential election, the nationwide average early voter turnout was recorded at 8.70%. This marks the highest turnout rate for this time slot among all previous early voting periods.

According to the National Election Commission, as of 12:00 p.m. on this day, 3,861,415 out of 44,391,871 eligible voters nationwide had participated in early voting.
The nationwide average early voter turnout stands at 8.70%. Since the early voting system was first introduced for nationwide elections in the June 4, 2014 local elections, this is the highest turnout rate for this time slot in any nationwide election, excluding by-elections and re-elections.
So far, Jeonnam has recorded the highest voter turnout at 17.33%, followed by Jeonbuk at 15.75% and Gwangju at 14.64%. Daegu has posted the lowest turnout at 5.63%.
Early voting will take place over two days, from May 29 to May 30. Voting hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Voters must bring a valid ID and visit an early voting station in order to participate.
