The cleanup, which took place on the 28th, was organized in celebration of the 30th Sea Day to raise awareness of the importance of the ocean and to preserve it in a clean state.

On this day, approximately 70 participants?including government officials, members of the Myeongju Fishing Village Association, the Gusan-myeon Saemaeul Association, and the Women's Association?gathered with a shared purpose to clean the coastline, collecting about 2 tons of waste.

Sea Day is observed on May 31 to commemorate the establishment of Cheonghaejin by Jang Bogo in May 828. To mark this occasion, the Masanhappo District Office has planned a 'Joint Cleanup for Sea Day' from May 22 to June 9, conducting cleanup activities at each fishing village association and major tourist sites.
