According to the National Health Insurance Service on May 29, the phishing email in question is sent under the subject line "Notice of Health Insurance Premium Arrears" and attempts to lure recipients into clicking a "Pay" button by providing instructions on how to pay overdue premiums.

This email is crafted to closely resemble an official notice from the National Health Insurance Service, including the organization's logo (CI) and other elements. Although the sender appears as "National Health Insurance Service," it has been confirmed that the email is actually sent from an account other than the official nhis.or.kr domain.

A representative from the National Health Insurance Service stated, "The organization does not send notifications regarding overdue payments for the four major social insurances via email. If you receive such an email, you must verify its authenticity through your local National Health Insurance Service branch or customer center." The representative also emphasized, "It is important to check the sender's address carefully and avoid opening emails or attachments from unknown sources."
