Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dongyeon cast his vote with his spouse Jung Wooyoung at the polling station set up at Gwanggyo 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Yeongtong-gu, Suwon-si, near the provincial government office around 7 a.m. on the first day of early voting for the 21st presidential election on the 29th.
After voting, Governor Kim stated, "I believe that this presidential election will serve as a crucial turning point for the swift end of the internal conflict and the creation of a new Republic of Korea." He added, "I trust that the new government will do its utmost to overcome the economic crisis and achieve national unity. I hope that the new administration will respect the outcome of the election, which is the flower of democracy, cooperate in state affairs, and show respect for the opposition party."

He continued, "Gyeonggi Province has already compiled and delivered a booklet outlining key issues we hope the new government will address." He added, "Depending on the election results, if the Democratic Party candidate is elected, I believe that Gyeonggi Province's issues will be given special and thoughtful consideration, and that we will be able to work together with the new government to resolve these matters."
Regarding claims of election fraud in early voting, Governor Kim asserted, "I have complete confidence that the election is being managed fairly and transparently, so I believe that talk of election fraud is not even worth considering."
