Man in His 30s Arrested for Trespassing Planned Ballot Counting Site in Busan: "To Verify Election Fraud Suspicion" Busan Gangseo Police Station.

Mr. A is accused of secretly entering Gangseo Gymnasium in Gangseo District, Busan, together with a woman in her 50s, referred to as Ms. B, at around 6 p.m. the previous day, staying there for about 10 minutes, and taking photos inside.

As in previous elections, Gangseo Gymnasium is designated to serve as a ballot counting site for this presidential election. Mr. A reportedly stated to police that he entered the planned ballot counting location to verify suspicions of election fraud.

The police plan to request an arrest warrant for Mr. A as soon as the investigation is completed.

In addition, they are working to determine the whereabouts of Ms. B in order to apprehend her. It was confirmed that Mr. A and Ms. B discussed suspicions of election fraud on social networking services (SNS) and conspired to commit this act.

The police stated, "Ahead of the early voting days (May 29-30) and the election day (June 3), we will respond strictly to illegal acts that undermine the fairness of the election, such as unauthorized entry and disturbances or obstruction at voting and ballot counting sites," and urged citizens to exercise particular vigilance.
