KHNP Wolsung Headquarters Supports Local Young Entrepreneurs

Wolsung Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) held Popup Square at its headquarters for two days, from May 27 to 28, with youth startup teams from the Gyeongju area participating.

This event was organized to provide an opportunity for young entrepreneurs and small business owners in the Gyeongju region to come together and grow alongside each other.

Popup Square featured eight youth startup teams from a variety of sectors, including desserts, horticulture, and workshops, who showcased their unique products. Employees of Wolsung Headquarters actively participated in the event, purchasing various items and enjoying the new attractions.

In particular, a variety of events were held, such as free Gyeongju strawberry juice grown directly by a local young farmer and a roulette game, which received an enthusiastic response from employees.

Jung Wonho, head of the headquarters, presented a plaque of appreciation to the young farmer who donated 100 kg of strawberries for the event.

Jung Wonho stated, "We will continue to strive to create a culture where young people can gain more opportunities and grow together," expressing his support and encouragement to the youth startup representatives.

Wolsung Headquarters also contributed to sales and took the lead in regional coexistence by purchasing some of the remaining items and donating them to vulnerable groups in the local community.

Since 2020, KHNP has been promoting the 'Gyeongju New Golden Startup Zone Project' in collaboration with Gyeongju City and the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Uiduk University. To date, a total of 850 million won has been invested, resulting in the opening of 25 youth stores in Hwangodong, Gyeongju, and achieving a remarkable 0% closure rate.
