The KMA explained, "We have decided to proceed with a public audit request against the Ministry of Health and Welfare because we believe that a transparent investigation into the entire policy implementation process is essential to correct hastily pursued healthcare policies and to ensure responsible policy design."

The KMA further stated, "The issue of increasing medical school quotas is a major policy matter that goes beyond the simple supply and demand of medical personnel, as it is directly linked to the sustainability of the healthcare system, the quality of medical services, and public health. However, the government has pushed forward with the policy in a reckless manner, disregarding legal procedures and lacking transparency and legitimacy."

The KMA reported that the main points of the public audit request include concerns about procedural illegality in the government's process of increasing medical school quotas, distortion in the consultation process with experts, unjustified orders to commence work, causing waste of public funds and financial resources, undermining essential medical services, contributing to the collapse of the medical ecosystem, and, as a result, infringing on the right to health of the public.
