Visit to Jongno Community Center Polling Station
On May 28, Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister Juho Lee, who also serves as Minister of Education, visited the polling station at the Jongno 1·2·3·4-ga-dong Community Center in Jongno-gu, Seoul, to inspect preparations for early voting. He stated, "I ask for your dedication over the next two days starting tomorrow," and emphasized, "It must be conducted fairly without a single error."
The early voting for the 21st presidential election will be held nationwide at 3,569 polling stations over two days, from May 29 to May 30. Acting President Lee received a briefing on the voting preparations from the Director General of Administration of Jongno-gu, Seoul, and inspected all aspects of the early voting facilities, including the setup of voting booths and ballot boxes, as well as accessibility features for people with disabilities.
Acting President Lee expressed his gratitude, saying, "I thank local government officials and related personnel for their hard work in carrying out statutory election duties even within a short period of time." He added, "The roles of local government officials working at polling sites are more important than anything else to ensure a fair and transparent election."
He further urged, "Please do your utmost in managing the early voting so that all citizens can comfortably exercise their valuable right to vote."
