The city has been selected as the top institution for eight consecutive years since 2018, once again proving that Namwon City's administrative capabilities are the highest in the province.

The joint local government evaluation, conducted annually by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, is the only comprehensive government-level assessment targeting local governments. It evaluates the performance of delegated national tasks, national subsidy projects, and major national policies carried out by local governments over the year.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety evaluates 17 metropolitan cities and provinces, while Jeonbuk Autonomous Province evaluates 14 cities and counties. The evaluation comprehensively covers all administrative areas closely related to citizens' lives, including employment, safety, health, and welfare.

In the quantitative evaluation sector, which measures goal achievement (68 indicators), the city met 63 national indicators, including employment support service achievement rate, support for identifying and managing welfare blind spots and post-management of beneficiaries, performance in cadastral resurvey projects, and the amount of recyclable resources sorted per resident.

Additionally, in the qualitative evaluation sector, which focuses on best practices (15 indicators), the city ranked first among cities, with Namwon City's citizen-centered policies receiving high marks for their distinctiveness and effectiveness.

To prepare for this evaluation, the city held briefings led by the deputy mayor to review progress and establish improvement measures, making significant efforts to improve performance. In particular, all staff members worked together, achieving excellent results through active communication and collaboration between departments.

As a result of this evaluation, the city is expected to receive a special allocation grant and plans to thoroughly prepare to achieve excellent results in next year's evaluation as well.

A city official stated, "Namwon City achieving first place in Jeonbuk for eight consecutive years in the joint local government evaluation is the result of continuous efforts to provide excellent administrative services. I would like to express my gratitude to the staff who have done their best in their respective fields despite challenging circumstances, and we will continue to do our utmost to make Namwon a city where citizens are happy."
