Dalseong-gun, Daegu (Governor Choi Jaehoon) announced on May 28 that the unmanned forest bookstore 'Biseul Bookstore', located inside the Biseul Mountain Natural Recreation Forest in Yuga-eup, will officially open in June.
After a 10-day trial operation that began on May 20, 'Biseul Bookstore' will officially open its doors in June. This space, designed to provide a comfortable reading experience in nature, is expected to become a new cultural haven for both local residents and tourists.
During the trial period, approximately 200 visitors stopped by. Considering the size of the space, its location in nature, and its unmanned operation, the response is considered significant.
In relation to this, a woman who visited with her child shared her impressions, saying, "I was surprised to find a space where we could read books in nature," and added, "Thanks to the quiet atmosphere of the forest, my child was able to concentrate on reading more than usual, and I also enjoyed a relaxing time in a space harmonized with nature."
'Biseul Bookstore', built with domestic timber, is an eco-friendly small building that blends with the forest of Biseul Mountain Natural Recreation Forest, creating a cozy atmosphere. Inside, a wide variety of books are available by age group, ranging from nostalgic comic books to the latest webtoon volumes and children's books.
The bookstore is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day except Tuesday. 'Biseul Bookstore' is open to all visitors to the recreation forest, including those using the campsite, and anyone is free to enjoy the bookstore. As it operates unmanned, anyone can use the facility without reservations or procedures, and book lending is also available.
Choi Jaehoon, Governor of Dalseong-gun, said, "I hope that time spent with books in the forest will provide residents with small but deep comfort and relaxation," and added, "We will continue to develop content that brings nature and people together."
