Four Organizations, Including BPA, Create a New Wave of Women’s Leadership in the Marine Sector with “W.A.V.E”
Women’s Advancement & Visionary Empowerment
On May 27, the Busan Port Authority (BPA) held the "2025 Marine Sector Women Leadership Joint Workshop" at the Busan Port International Exhibition & Convention Center (BPEX), in collaboration with the Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation, Korea Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technology, and National Maritime Museum.
This workshop, held under the theme "A New Wave in the Ocean Toward the Future, W.A.V.E (Women's Advancement & Visionary Empowerment)," was organized in cooperation with each institution to build a network among women professionals in the marine sector and to strengthen their leadership capabilities.
The event was attended by 35 female employees from the four organizations and featured a variety of programs, including sharing of women leadership case studies, expert lectures, and roundtable networking sessions.
In particular, the introduction of BPA's women leadership case studies resonated strongly, as participants shared their growth experiences as female leaders within the organization and discussed strategies for demonstrating effective leadership.
BPA President Song Sangkeun stated, "For the sustainable development of Busan Port, it is essential to create an environment where diverse talents can grow into leaders," adding, "Busan Port Authority will continue to lead the development of women professionals in the marine sector as a public institution that fosters an inclusive organizational culture and actively promotes the nurturing of women talent."
