Busan Office of Education Operates "Class Sharing Relay" for Elementary School Teachers

Enhancing Teachers' Professionalism and Improving Classroom Culture
Through Voluntary Instructional Research and Sharing

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) will operate the "First Semester Class Sharing Relay" for elementary school teachers who wish to participate, until July 11, in order to enhance teachers' instructional expertise and improve classroom culture.

The "Class Sharing Relay" is a participatory class-sharing program in which teachers voluntarily open their classes to their colleagues, share their instructional intentions and outcomes, and exchange mutual feedback. After the open class, participants engage in a "Class Talk" session to reflect on the lesson and discuss its educational significance together.

For this relay, 26 teachers will open their classes, and approximately 360 teachers are expected to participate as observers and engage in exchanging opinions. Various student-centered instructional cases will be introduced, including integrated subject lessons, question-centered lessons, and project-based lessons. Through this, teachers will be able to strengthen their field-oriented teaching competencies and explore new educational approaches.

Kim Seokjun, Superintendent of the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, stated, "The Class Sharing Relay is a valuable opportunity to foster an autonomous and collaborative classroom culture. I hope that teachers' teaching and learning competencies will be further enhanced, and I will continue to actively support the expansion of student-led, learning-centered instruction in the future."

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education plans to use this relay to spread a culture of instructional innovation centered on teachers in the field and to revitalize voluntary instructional research communities.
