National Folk Museum of Korea Partners with National Museum of Singapore... "Window Open to the World" Vision

MOU Signed with the National Museum of Singapore
to Mark 50 Years of Diplomatic Relations
Five-Year Cultural Exchange and Cooperation Planned

The National Folk Museum of Korea announced on May 28 that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for cultural exchange with the National Museum of Singapore at the Singapore Hwa Family Culture Center on May 22.

This agreement was made between the National Folk Museum of Korea and the National Museum of Singapore, which are the central institutions for academic research and exhibitions in their respective countries, to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and Singapore. The two institutions pledged to cooperate and exchange through various activities and programs over the next five years.


The signing ceremony was held as part of the "2025 International Museum Day Singapore Symposium" and was attended by Jang Sanghoon, director of the National Folk Museum of Korea, Chung May Khun, director of the National Museum of Singapore, Chang Hwee Nee, chairperson of the National Heritage Board of Singapore, and Loh Tze Wee, president of the Singapore Museum Association.


Jang Sanghoon, director of the National Folk Museum of Korea, stated, "As Korea's leading national museum with an 80-year history, the National Folk Museum of Korea is pursuing the vision of becoming a 'window open to the world' ahead of its relocation to Sejong in 2031. I am confident that this agreement will be a very meaningful and important step for both institutions."
