Encouragement for Submarine Unit Members on the 35th Anniversary of the Unit's Founding
The Republic of Korea Navy Submarine Command (hereinafter referred to as "Submarine Command") held a ceremony to deliver consolation money with the Submarine Federation of Korea (hereinafter referred to as "Submarine Federation") on May 27 to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the unit's founding.
Kim Jeongdu, President of the Submarine Federation (retired Lieutenant General), visited the Submarine Command on this day, toured the submarines docked at the base and the unit, and encouraged the Submarine Command personnel who are dedicated to defending the nation's maritime territory underwater. He also delivered 3 million won in consolation money, asking that it be used to boost morale and improve the welfare of the submarine unit members.
Kim Hyuksu, the first commander of the Submarine Squadron (retired Brigadier General), and other former commanders of the submarine unit who are members of the Submarine Federation, held a development advisory committee meeting with unit officials. They provided policy advice on current issues facing the unit and offered guidance on future directions for development.
Lee Heekwang (Lieutenant Colonel), personnel officer of the Submarine Command, expressed his gratitude by saying, "I would like to thank the Submarine Federation officials and former commanders for visiting the unit in person and encouraging our personnel. We will continue to contribute to national security as a strategic unit that annihilates the enemy with the most powerful weapons, in the deepest and most covert places."
