The declaration of support that day was attended by a delegation including Choi Youngho, former head of Nam-gu district in Gwangju, Seo Daeseok, former head of Seo-gu district in Gwangju, Choi Hyungsik, former mayor of Damyang County, as well as other members.

Through the reading of their declaration, co-chair Park Hongryul and all members of the Gwangju Jeonnam Headquarters expressed their resolve to "end the regime of rebellion and open a new era of great national sovereignty together with candidate Lee Jaemyung."

In the declaration, the headquarters stated, "We support candidate Lee Jaemyung in order to usher in a new era where the sovereign people who have protected Korea can truly become the masters of the nation," and defined the current election as "a process to eradicate pro-rebellion forces and complete a revolution of light by building a new Korea centered on the sovereign people."

To this end, they emphasized the goal of strongly promoting solidarity and cooperation among democratic forces, and realizing these aims through the election of Lee Jaemyung.

They asserted, "We will strengthen local autonomy so that the will of the sovereign people can become reality, and create a true Korea where a citizen-participatory political system can be realized," adding, "We will take the lead in establishing a sustainable system in which the sovereign people complete democracy through direct participation, and in realizing direct democracy that supplements representative democracy, such as through the right of recall, citizen speech systems, and deliberative democracy."

They further stated, "We have confirmed that candidate Lee Jaemyung will take the lead in expanding and strengthening local autonomy and decentralization, improving the excessively centralized political culture, and driving innovation."

Additionally, they said, "We believe that a government of national sovereignty must be established as a catalyst for a great transformation of Korea's reality?marked by social conflict, confrontation, and hatred?into a society of tolerance, inclusion, harmony, and mutual prosperity," and added, "We will take the lead in realizing open democracy where citizen participation is institutionally guaranteed, and in expanding an inclusive political culture that values dialogue and compromise."

The National Sovereignty National Assembly emphasized, "We resolve to unite all our efforts for the election of candidate Lee Jaemyung so that, through the power of national sovereignty, together with the people, we can create a new, great, and proud chapter in Korea's history where the sovereign people become the true masters of the nation."
