The YouTube Shopping Partnership Program is an advertising model that allows creators to insert product information from Olive Young's online mall into YouTube video content, such as videos, Shorts, and live streams, to drive purchases. Creators who meet certain eligibility criteria can link Olive Young products to their content after a simple registration process.
YouTube has been supporting collaborations between creators and indie brands in Korea through 'YouTube Shopping,' which was launched domestically in June last year.
With the introduction of this partnership program, brands available on Olive Young are expected to expand their contact points with potential customers. According to global research firm Ipsos, 73% of YouTube viewers in Korea responded that they "obtain information on YouTube that helps them make purchasing decisions."
Creators will now be able to tag products sold on Olive Young in their content. In particular, during Olive Young's largest discount event, 'Ol-Yong Sale,' which begins on the 31st, creators will be able to introduce multiple products at discounted prices within their content.
A representative from Olive Young stated, "With the introduction of the YouTube partnership program, more customers will be able to discover the competitive products of Olive Young's small and medium-sized partner companies," adding, "We will continue to enhance our content competitiveness to make the shopping experience more enjoyable for our customers."
A YouTube Shopping representative commented, "YouTube continuously strives to provide creators with new opportunities to connect their favorite products with viewers and to offer viewers an integrated shopping environment that makes experiencing creators' content more convenient and enjoyable," adding, "We will continue to work with various partners to help vitalize the creator economy."
