Hope Bridge Provides 'EV Drill Lens' for Electric Vehicle Firefighting to Bongdam 119

Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Song Pilho) announced on May 28 that it has provided the 'EV Drill Lens', equipment for extinguishing electric vehicle fires, to the Bongdam 119 Safety Center. The equipment was made possible through a donation from Gyeonggi Expressway Co., Ltd. (CEO Yoon Hyunho).

The 'EV Drill Lens' is a specialized device that injects water directly into the battery of an electric vehicle during a fire, preventing re-ignition and enabling rapid fire suppression. It is gaining attention as a tool specifically designed to address electric vehicle fires, which are difficult to extinguish with conventional equipment.

Gyeonggi Expressway, which has received support from the 119 Safety Center in responding to accidents on the Seosuwon, Osan, and Pyeongtaek Expressways, made this donation to prevent major accidents caused by electric vehicle fires and to strengthen on-site response capabilities of firefighters.

Shin Hoon, Secretary-General of Hope Bridge, said, "We are grateful to Gyeonggi Expressway for their meaningful donation, which will help us prepare for electric vehicle fires," and added, "Hope Bridge will continue to be a disaster response partner that contributes to public safety through practical support and prevention-focused measures."
