Acting President Lee Inspects Wildfire Damage in Gyeongnam: "Full Support for Swift Recovery and Stabilization" Yonhap News

On May 27, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Lee Jooho, who is also serving as Acting President, visited the Korea Seonbi Culture Institute in Sancheong, Gyeongsangnam-do, to inspect the wildfire recovery site and offer comfort to the displaced residents.

After receiving a report from Sancheong County on the status of relief efforts for the displaced and the recovery plans, Acting President Lee requested that meticulous support be provided, including meal services, daily necessities, and psychological stabilization, to help the displaced residents return to their daily lives as soon as possible.

He also emphasized the need to devote full efforts to quarantine and hygiene management in order to prevent infectious diseases during the summer season.

Acting President Lee visited Sangji Village, which was affected by the wildfire, to check the recovery status of slopes that have become dangerous due to the fire. In particular, he instructed that thorough measures be taken to prevent additional damage, such as installing bypass drainage channels to keep rainwater or soil from flowing into the village during the upcoming rainy season.

He stated, "The government will do its utmost to ensure the swift recovery and stabilization of daily life in all wildfire-affected areas, including Sancheong County."
