In a statement released that afternoon, Kim said, "I will establish and implement fundamental measures to eradicate corruption involving the president's family," making this commitment clear.

Kim stated, "If I am chosen by the people, I will break the chain of misfortune caused by misconduct involving the president's family and relatives," and added, "During my term, I will never violate the law or do anything that would damage the dignity of the nation or the office of the president."

Kim emphasized, "I will immediately appoint a special inspector," and continued, "Previous presidents did not make this appointment, citing parliamentary procedures as the reason. However, I will appoint a special inspector recommended by the opposition party without any conditions immediately upon taking office."

He also pledged to ensure that the president's spouse would not be involved in any state affairs, including personnel decisions. Kim said, "I will not forget the principle that the only person elected by the people is the president, and I will make sure that the president's spouse and family, who are not elected by the people, never intervene in state affairs."

He went on to say, "I will disclose the living expenses of the presidential residence to the public," and pointed out, "There was a president who allowed their children to live in the residence and used taxpayers' money to cover their housing expenses. This is unacceptable."

Kim added, "Except for official events, I will not use even a single won of taxpayers' money for personal purposes," and continued, "I did the same during my time as governor of Gyeonggi Province. I will disclose to the public how any taxes used at the presidential residence are spent."
