The Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) announced on May 27 that it will conduct an open recruitment for 189 new education administrative staff in the second half of this year.
This recruitment is being held to ensure timely placement of personnel in educational sites where vacancies have occurred. By job category, 143 positions are for cooks and 46 positions are for special education assistants.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and under 60 years old. Anyone whose address is in Gyeongbuk from before the application start date until the final test date (interview date) is eligible to apply, regardless of specific region within Gyeongbuk.
However, for special education assistants, applicants must have at least a high school diploma in accordance with the Enforcement Rules of the Act on Special Education for Persons with Disabilities, etc.
Applications will be accepted for nine days from June 2 to June 10. Special education assistant applicants can apply online or in person at the School Support Division of the Gyeongbuk Office of Education, while cook applicants can submit their applications in person (at the relevant local education support office), by registered mail, or by email.
Meanwhile, in order to enhance the expertise of special education assistants and secure outstanding personnel, a new additional point system for certifications will be introduced for the special education assistant exam.
For the certification additional points, holders of a Level 2 or higher regular teacher certificate for kindergarten, elementary, middle, or special schools will receive an additional 3% of the full score; nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists will receive an additional 2%; and holders of Level 2 or higher childcare teacher, Level 2 or higher social worker, nurse assistant, or caregiver certificates will receive an additional 1%. These points are added to the first-round written test score and can be combined with additional points for career experience and employment support eligibility.
The first-round written test (personality test and job competency test) for the special education assistant position will be held on July 5, followed by the second-round interview on July 23. The final successful candidates will be announced on July 29.
