"Only I Can Advocate for Sound Fiscal Policy"
Harshly Denounces Coalition as Failing to Represent Moderate Conservative Values

On May 27, Lee Junseok, the presidential candidate of the Reform Party, strongly criticized Kim Moonsoo, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, for announcing the formation of a coalition government with Lee Nakyon, Senior Advisor of the New Future Democratic Party, stating that "it cannot embody the values of the moderate conservative camp." Lee emphasized that the only candidate who can represent conservatism is the Lee Junseok administration.

Through social media on the same day, Lee stated, "The bizarre concept of a Kim Moonsoo-Lee Nakyon coalition government cannot represent the values of the moderate conservative camp," adding, "A future cannot be something as impossible as a 'square circle.'"

He continued, "From today, the only choice that can confidently advocate for sound fiscal policy, a robust security posture toward North Korea, and a firm South Korea-U.S. alliance is the Lee Junseok administration."

He dismissed the possibility of unifying candidates with the People Power Party, effectively claiming that he is the only candidate representing the conservative camp.

Earlier that day, Advisor Lee held a press conference at the New Future Democratic Party's central office in Hanyang Building, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, where he announced his support, stating, "In principle, we have agreed to cooperate in our own ways with Candidate Kim to prevent the emergence of a monstrous dictatorship and to prepare for a new, hopeful Seventh Republic." Advisor Lee explained that he and Candidate Kim had agreed on forming and operating a coalition government for national unity and cooperating on constitutional amendments to launch the Seventh Republic.
