"Unification with Lee Junseok Is Now Out of Reach"
Park Jieon, Co-Chair of the Central Election Countermeasures Committee of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized Lee Nakyeon, Standing Advisor of the Saemirae Democratic Party, who declared an alliance with Kim Moonsu, presidential candidate of the People Power Party, on the basis of 'constitutional amendment and forming a joint government.' Park stated, "His past, present, and future have been completely burned away."
On May 27, through Facebook, Co-Chair Park said, "I am shocked by reports that Lee Nakyeon, who has served as a member of the National Assembly, governor, prime minister, and party leader in the Democratic Party, has agreed to form a joint government with Kim Moonsu, a candidate representing the forces of insurrection, using constitutional amendment as a medium."
He added, "Forces that continue together as the main agents and sympathizers of insurrection, even after the imposition of martial law and the unanimous impeachment decision by the Constitutional Court, are forces that destroy democracy." He continued, "Today, Yoon Sanghyun, a close associate of Yoon Sukyeol, was announced as co-chair of Kim Moonsu's campaign. Lee Nakyeon's partnership?could it really be a joint government with Kim Moonsu as president and Lee Nakyeon as prime minister? Hahaha."
He went on to say, "With the appointment of Chair Yoon Sanghyun, any possibility of unification with candidate Lee Junseok is now completely out of reach," and added, "This personnel decision will also cause further turmoil within the People Power Party."
