Gyeongsan City to Implement 'Vertical Width Reduction' for Banners

Gyeongsan City in North Gyeongsang Province will fully implement a reduction in the vertical width of banners posted on 89 designated banner stands from the current 0.9 meters to 0.7 meters, starting June 6, 2025.

This initiative is aimed at preventing environmental pollution caused by the incineration of discarded banners and at preventing safety accidents, such as banners falling during strong winds.

Until June 5, 2025, a pilot period will be in effect, during which banners can be posted at either the existing width of 0.9 meters or the new width of 0.7 meters. However, from June 6, 2025, only banners with a width of 0.7 meters will be permitted.

A city official stated, "We will do our utmost to prevent safety accidents during strong winds and to achieve carbon neutrality by reducing the vertical width of banners and minimizing the incineration of discarded banners."

Banner applications can be submitted via the website http://www.gskoaa.or.kr, and inquiries can be made to the Gyeongsan branch of the Outdoor Advertising Association.
