In celebration of the 80th anniversary of Liberation, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization is hosting a walking certification event at 116 anti-Japanese movement sites in Gyeonggi Province.

This event is held in conjunction with the Gyeonggi Dullegil walking trail. Participants can visit one of the 116 anti-Japanese movement sites in Gyeonggi Province on foot, post proof on their personal social networking service (SNS), and receive a Gyeonggi Dullegil mascot badge and a photo card.

Applications can be submitted through the Gyeonggi Dullegil website or Instagram, and the event will be available to the first 815 participants on a first-come, first-served basis until September 14.

Participants must walk at least 3.1 kilometers to visit one of the 116 anti-Japanese movement sites in person.

The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization has linked anti-Japanese movement sites with the Gyeonggi Dullegil, encouraging walkers to visit these historical sites naturally. Through this event, the organization hopes participants will have an opportunity to reflect once again on the significance of the 80th anniversary of Liberation and the anti-Japanese movement.

The Gyeonggi Dullegil is a circular long-distance walking trail with a total length of 860 kilometers, starting at Daemyeonghang and looping around the outskirts of Gyeonggi Province before returning to the starting point.

Gyeonggi Province and 15 cities and counties jointly developed the trail, which consists of a total of 60 courses: the 'Peace Nuri-gil' connecting the DMZ border area, the 'Forest Trail' featuring forests and valleys, the 'Water Trail' passing rivers and fields, and the 'Mudflat Trail' offering views of the sea and tidal flats. Recently, the number of people who have completed the entire 860 kilometers surpassed 1,000. User rest areas have also been established around Geumgwang Lake in Anseong and inside the Pyeongtaek Port Promotion Center in Pyeongtaek.

A representative from the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization stated, "This event is a meaningful opportunity to revisit the significance of the 80th anniversary of Liberation by walking to anti-Japanese movement sites scattered throughout Gyeonggi Province," and added, "We will continue to prepare a variety of experiences and events centered around the Gyeonggi Dullegil."
