Ulleung Office of Education Launches "Dream-Edu Student Reporter Group"

On May 24, the Ulleung Office of Education in North Gyeongsang Province held an inauguration ceremony for the "Dream-Edu Student Reporter Group," a project under the Special Educational Development Zone initiative, targeting about 30 elementary, middle, and high school students in the region.

The "Dream-Edu Student Reporter Group" is a team of reporters who deliver news about the history, culture, and educational scene of the Ulleung area, based on media education and literacy training essential for the digital age.


The event featured a variety of programs, including the student reporters' code of ethics and guidelines for practice, a basic theory class on article writing, and instructions on planning and writing news articles.


Instructor Lim Jeongeun, who led the reporter training, is the chief editor of the online newspaper "Media Students and Youth." Drawing on her diverse experience, including serving as director of Times Core and ERS Research Institute, as well as compiling media education and E-NIE teaching guides, she delivered key theoretical and practical knowledge essential for reporter activities.


Superintendent Lee Dongshin stated, "Through the activities of the student reporter group, a platform will be created for active communication between the local community and schools, and it will also be a great help to students in their academic advancement."
