Sling, Operator of 'Orzo', Selected for Ministry's 'Baby Unicorn' Program

Enhancement of Internationally Accredited Test Preparation Content
and Multilingual AI Tutor Features Planned

Sling, the operator of the tablet-based learning app for test-takers 'Orzo', announced on the 27th that it has been selected for the 'Baby Unicorn Fostering Program' organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. The Baby Unicorn program is designed to discover promising companies with innovative business models and growth potential, and nurture them into pre-unicorns with a corporate value of over 100 billion KRW. Sling was ultimately selected after being recognized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups for its accumulated investment record, technology evaluation grade, business performance, and potential for global expansion.

As a result, Sling will receive various benefits to support its business expansion and global entry, including up to 300 million KRW in market development funds, special guarantees of up to 5 billion KRW, connections to follow-up investment opportunities, global consulting and IR support, and assistance in establishing overseas subsidiaries.


With this selection as a Baby Unicorn, Sling plans to sequentially update its internationally accredited test preparation content and multilingual AI tutor features, further accelerating its global expansion. Sling's flagship service, 'Orzo', provides personalized learning for test-takers through the interactive AI tutor 'Orzo AI Coach', offering convenient problem-solving, explanations, and review functions for all subjects using tablets and smart pencils.


Kangmin Ahn, CEO of Sling, stated, "With the Baby Unicorn selection as a turning point, our goal is to focus on growth and become the first edtech company to reach unicorn status." He added, "We will continue to expand Orzo's content to meet the needs of test-takers not only in Korea but also globally, and to help them study more easily."
