Buyeo County in South Chungcheong Province has established itself as a "model student" among local governments, achieving remarkable results across all areas of local administration in the first half of this year.

The county has made progress in integrity, fiscal execution, and securing national funds. In the second half of the year, Buyeo County is accelerating regional development by promoting large-scale projects worth 3 trillion won.

According to Buyeo County on May 27, in the first half of the year, the county achieved notable external results, including: ▲receiving the highest grade (Grade 1) in the Comprehensive Integrity Assessment of Public Institutions for three consecutive years, ▲being selected as an excellent institution in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s Active Administration and Fiscal Execution Evaluation, and ▲ranking second among counties in the Chungcheongnam-do city and county assessment.

In particular, the Grade 1 rating in integrity, which symbolizes transparency and responsible administration, played a decisive role in boosting public trust in local government.

The county secured large-scale funding, including 37.5 billion won for the Southeastern Rural Revitalization Project and 152.3 billion won in national funds for the 2025 Drainage Improvement Project. Considering the county’s limited local finances, these achievements are recognized as substantial fiscal input results.

With these achievements, the county is set to launch full-scale regional development projects in the second half of the year. A total of 247 projects will be carried out across six sectors (administration, culture and tourism, welfare and environment, agriculture and livestock, construction and safety, and industrial economy), with a total project budget reaching 3.0796 trillion won.

Major projects include: ▲a comprehensive protection facility for people with disabilities, ▲the Suribawi Camping Garden development, ▲the establishment of a Canoe Training Center, ▲accommodation facilities for rural workers, and ▲the expansion of Baekmagang Park Golf Course by 36 holes. These projects are expected to significantly expand infrastructure across welfare, sports, and tourism sectors.

In the culture and tourism sector, the county plans to expand content utilizing its unique cultural assets, such as the Buyeo Seodong Lotus Festival, the Baekje Cultural Festival, and the 10th anniversary event of UNESCO World Heritage inscription.

In particular, national heritage content incorporating modern elements such as media art is drawing attention as a new driver for attracting tourists and revitalizing the local economy.

Governor Park Junghyun stated, "We will efficiently manage resources to achieve administrative outcomes that residents can truly feel, and lead regional development through active administration and collaboration," adding, "We will focus on improving the quality of life for residents through performance-oriented county administration."

The county plans to continue enhancing administrative trust and strengthening the foundation for sustainable regional development by steadily promoting key projects from the 7th and 8th popularly elected administrations.
