Jack Daniel's Launches Premium Rye Whiskey 'Bonded Rye'

Distinctive Spicy Aroma from High Rye Content

On May 27, Brown-Forman Korea announced the launch of its premium lineup product, Jack Daniel's Bonded Tennessee Rye Whiskey, an American Tennessee whiskey. This new release is the second bonded whiskey following the launch of Jack Daniel's Bonded in March.

Jack Daniel's Bonded Rye is a rye whiskey characterized by its spicy aroma, which comes from its high rye content. It is crafted with a grain blend of 70% rye, 18% corn, and 12% barley, and uses only original spirits aged for about 7 to 8 years in carefully selected barrels, resulting in one of the richest flavors among rye whiskeys. The flavor profile begins with notes of dried fruit, followed by a lingering sweetness of toffee, delivering a complex yet well-balanced taste. The finish features a subtle peppery note that lingers on the palate, leaving a signature sharp finish unique to rye whiskey.

This new product is a premium Tennessee whiskey that strictly adheres to the Bottled in Bond Act, which guarantees the highest quality of whiskey. Accordingly, it uses only original spirits distilled at a single distillery during a single season, aged for at least four years in a U.S. government-certified warehouse, and bottled at 100 proof (50% alcohol by volume). Only whiskeys that meet these rigorous standards are permitted to carry the "Bottled in Bond" designation.

Additionally, like other products in the Jack Daniel's lineup, it undergoes the traditional Tennessee whiskey process of charcoal mellowing before aging. In this process, the original spirit is slowly filtered drop by drop over 3 to 5 days through a filter made of sugar maple charcoal, removing impurities and resulting in a smoother and more refined flavor profile.
