Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province is recruiting members for the "Suwon Special City Autonomous Decentralization Youth Planning Group" until June 9, 2025.
On May 27, Suwon City announced that it is accepting applications for the Autonomous Decentralization Youth Planning Group from young people aged 19 to 34 who reside in Suwon, as well as university students currently enrolled at universities located in Suwon, Yongin, or Hwaseong.
The group will consist of approximately 30 members, with priority given to students attending universities in Suwon. The activity period will run from July to November.
The Autonomous Decentralization Youth Planning Group will be responsible for creating content related to the activation of autonomous decentralization and special city status in Suwon, conducting online promotions, organizing and participating in discussions on autonomous decentralization, and posting reviews on social media after attending major events in Suwon City.
After receiving basic training on the concept of autonomous decentralization and capacity-building education such as promotion (SNS, writing), the Youth Planning Group will carry out activities for four months starting in July.
Members of the Youth Planning Group will receive a certificate of appointment and a certificate of completion issued by the mayor, and volunteer hours will be granted according to the activities performed. In addition, outstanding participants will be awarded the Suwon Mayor's Award.
A Suwon City official stated, "The activities of the Autonomous Decentralization Youth Planning Group are a great opportunity for young people to experience and become more familiar with the meaning of autonomy and decentralization," adding, "The creative ideas and content produced by young people will naturally help communicate the value of autonomous decentralization to citizens."
