According to videos posted on social media, a black van struck one person while driving, then changed lanes and deliberately steered toward the area where the crowd was gathered, accelerating directly into them. The vehicle came to a stop after hitting many people. Police officers who were nearby immediately intervened and arrested the driver. The police stated, "The arrested man is a 53-year-old white British national from Liverpool," adding, "An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances that led to the incident."
